1st Post-Roe Legislative Session
The 2023 Alabama legislative session begins in March, and End Abortion Alabama is already making plans for how we can abolish abortion in our state.
This will be the first regular session of the Alabama Legislature since Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court in Dobbs.
✅ The good news is that physician-assisted abortion is (mostly) illegal and the clinics have closed…
❌ The bad news is that abortion pills are being shipped across state lines to kill baby Alabamians while the Biden Administration promotes it and Alabama law still allows women to use them to kill their babies.
Now that the evil, unconstitutional Roe opinion has finally been relegated to the trash heap where it always belonged, there is one less excuse for delaying equal protection for preborn babies.
The 2023 legislative session will be an EXTREMELY important time for finding out which lawmakers are ready to completely abolish abortion in Alabama without compromise…and who isn’t.
Roe is overturned, but abortion is not yet abolished.
Help us fight for the rights of preborn children!
If we can get enough support for our mission, we plan to:
Draft the 2023 Alabama bill to abolish abortion (already well underway)/
Recruit cosponsors for the bill.
Building grassroots support for the legislation through petition collection, events, and one-on-one meetings.
Hosting a rally at the State House to show lawmakers how important this is.
Putting pressure on lawmakers to bring the bill up for a vote.
This is an ambitious plan -- but it is one we can carry out with your help.
Our minimum budget for this legislative session is $50,000.
Now, that is a lot of money, but you must see how important our work is.
It is still LEGAL for a woman to KILL the baby in her womb using whatever means she wants.
And a recent study found that 1 out of every 3 women seeking an abortion would choose a DIY abortion if she didn't have access to a clinic.
This is a CRISIS.
Alabama law has a major gap that allows preborn children to be murdered with NO legal protections.
That's why we need to go ALL-IN to abolish abortion and provide those precious babies with the protections they deserve.
Your support is CRUCIAL
Would you make a generous donation to End Abortion Alabama today?
We've already made waves with the political class in Montgomery.
During the elections this year, we EXPOSED politicians who REFUSE to support equal protection for preborn children.
Our work in the primaries even garnered some media attention.
State Rep. Proncey Robertson was sent packing when voters in House District 7 elected abolitionist candidate Ernie Yarbrough.
Thanks to the support of the members of End Abortion Alabama, we were able to notify Alabamians across the state about where their candidate stand on the right to life.
But we can't let off the gas.
We must keep the pressure up through the 2023 legislative session.
